This concert was sponsored by a local Seattle radio station called 107.7 The End. Because they sponsored it, admission was only $1.07 with a special invite which people could get off the web. Now for that price, I just had to go. Besides I've gotten hooked on Tantric's CD for the last couple weeks.
I got to the Crocodile Cafe about 10 minutes before the opening band hit the stage, but I was still able to get pretty close to the front, I was about 4 people back from the stage. Not to bad.
The opening band was a local band I had never heard of called Loudermilk. They seemed awfully... young. I doubt I would ever get any of their music, but they did put on a good show and played a decent set.
Tantric came out at 6:30 and started off with Revillusion. It was a great choice to start with, it really got the crowd pumped.
The next song Hugo said was for all the weed smokers, and that Seattle bud was the best 'cause it makes you Paranoid.
This song he said was "for all the fuckers out there, you know who you are." And gave a good performance of Astounded. Most of the crowd sang along with the chorus of it.
Then the pace slowed down a little when they played Mourning. After which they played I'll Stay Here.
Then Hugo said the next song Frequency was a heavy song and for those that wanted to mosh separate from those that don't. Just wanted everyone to have fun.
After that they played a new song. I don't know the name of it but he said it was about the future and foresight. It sounded pretty good.
The next song they played Hugo said was his favorite off the CD and is called Live Your Life. It's probably one of my favorites too so it was awesome.
He said that they only play small clubs every now and then so he wanted to take advantage of the situation and stage dive during the next song I Don't Care. Performance-wise I think it was about the best song they did.
The last song of the set he said everyone should know cause its getting played all over the radio which is of course Breakdown. After which they left the stage and the lights came up.
The crowd began chanting "Tantric" over and over and they came back out for an encore. Hugo said this one was for all the true Tantric fans because it's the last song on the CD so its only the true fans that listen all the way through to hear Inside Your Head.
And with that it was over. All in all I would say it was a really good show. I'd rate it about a 8 out of 10. No doubt its the best buck I ever spent.
